Week Seven Reflection Paper

Q Please choose exactly one stakeholder from the three we have discussed and identify one specific thing you would change about the stakeholder's role. For instance, would you disallow the providers from changing where Sandra is staying in the hospital and leave this entirely up to the insurance company? Would you make it required that every single test and procedure was pre-approved by the insurance company prior to it being allowed to be done? There is no wrong answer to this reflection paper. I am looking for critical thinking which demonstrates an understanding of the cascading effects of such a decision for all stakeholders involved. Submit assignment by Sunday, 11:59 PM EST.

The patient is the most important stakeholder in the healthcare segment. If we look down from the perspective of the patient, we can say that the condition of the patient is critical. She is suffering from an internal virus and there is no specific reason to change her hospital. Insurance payment is taking new heights which is why the insurer is trying to move the patient to a cheaper and more reliable place. If the hospital is offering good service to the patient with, I do not feel that there is any need for the patient to move because the patient has an internal infection where the stomach need not be moved much, and more time should be given towards rest. So, the decision whether Sandra needs to stay at the hospital has to have value and the decision cannot be entirely left to the insurance company.
